It’s raining revenue for YouTube creators.

Cruise into this week’s content creator news.

Hey, you. Isn’t it time you broke up with that toxic partner? No, we don’t mean that person you met on Bumble last month (you do you, boo), we mean hustle culture. The world is quiet quitting, Chinese professionals are “lying flat”, and everyone else is working on establishing healthy boundaries in order to preserve their peace of mind. We’re not afraid to be honest with you – if you haven’t cut ties with constant productivity and overtime obligations, it’s probably a good time. The reality is we’re all subjects to overworking, whether in content creation or a corporate space. Take a breather, recharge, and get back to balance.

At the Made on YouTube live event on September 20, the company revealed exciting plans to help creators make more money by allowing them to earn ad revenue on Shorts. In addition to updating the YouTube Partner Program, it’s introducing a new way of helping video creators and music artists collaborate and get paid with Creator Music, a new tab in YouTube Studio where creators can browse a library of music for use in their long-form videos.
